Jack David McCrary
Age 28, passed away at home on March 28, 2026 of Colon cancer/ Leptomeningeal disease.
Jack was born in Ann Arbor MI on September 23, 1997 to Matt and Suzy McCrary. After graduating from South Lyon High School in 2016 he attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Jack earned two Bachelor Degrees in political science, and communications. He was recognized by Lambda Pi Eta the National Communication Association Honor Society class of 2020. Jack also went to the Dominican Republic as part of a study abroad program.
While attending college he met Haley Thibeault and the two were formally engaged this past Christmas. Jack had many interests but together they enjoyed traveling, hiking, and spending time with their many friends. They especially enjoyed their travels to the National Parks. While at Acadia in Maine they enjoyed hiking around Jordan Pond and eating oysters. Kentucky was another favorite destination where they enjoyed the races at Keeneland. Together they also cherished their quiet time in their Williamston home reading, writing, and watching movies with their two cats Salem and Maple.
Jack loved animals and had many pets including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, horses and a hamster. His two favorites were his dog Tootsie and his cat Lola.
Jack will be forever missed by his parents Suzy (Larry) and Matt (Kate), his brothers Luke and Michael, fiancé Haley and her parents Skip and Shelley and all their families.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 2 at Waldenwoods 2975 Old US 23 Howell, MI 48855 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Dr. Tony Shields Colon Cancer Research Fund. A donation box will be provided.
