His Legacy…James Edward Harbert, 86, passed away March 19, 2023. He was born on February 25, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to Dwight Harbert and Clara (Dickerson) Harbert. James married the love of his life, Christine Valerie (Pietras) Harbert, on July 1, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan. James was an entrepreneur and owned various bars, restaurants and bowling alleys. James was a very hard worker and enjoyed his profession. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching the Detroit Tigers. James was a member of St. Mary Pinckney Knights of Columbus #11761. Even though he dealt with many medical issues he was always happy and never complained. James had a very mellow personality and was very funny. He had an affinity for cheeseburgers, peanut butter and jelly, and cookies. He adored his grandchildren and loved to play with them. James was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… James will be missed by his children, Michael Todd (Sherrie) Harbert, Julia (William Lindsay) Harbert; grandchildren, Diamond (Derrick) Allen; Jade Harbert, James Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Delane, Dayleigh, and Della. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Harbert; parents, Dwight and Clara Harbert; sisters, Nancy and Peggy; and brother, Dwight.
His Farewell… James’ family and friends will gather Friday, April 28, 2023, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering) for a Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pinckney, Michigan.
