James "Jim" Janowski Obituary

His Legacy:

James Janowski, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away April 30, 2025, in Florida. Born on May 8, 1936, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Melvin and Dorothy Janowski, he was known for his unwavering dedication to his wife, dogs, career, conservation and family. He leaves a legacy that’s filled with love, generosity and an unbreakable spirit that will continue to inspire and guide us all.

Jim proudly served 6 years in the U.S. Army, spending time in the Philippines. He was a proud veteran who never passed an American flag without offering a salute. After his military service, Jim’s time was spent with his children, building his career at Thetford Corporation, and pursuing his many passions – including rebuilding an airplane, training his dogs, hunting and fishing.

In November 1975, Jim and Stephanie married in Grand Blanc, Michigan, embarking on a journey that lasted nearly five decades. Their love and devotion to each other created a foundation that would stand the test of time, enriched by the memories and adventures they shared together.

Jim was a successful and proud entrepreneur, building and running a small business in Ann Arbor, Michigan for many years. He also had a passion for gardening, happily sharing his fresh asparagus and other produce. His faith and family, however, were the cornerstones of his life.
