We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Howell – Lamb Chapel
Her Legacy… Janet Elaine Ray, 58, passed away on June 15, 2022. She was born on May 3, 1964, in Howell, Michigan to Ralph Edward McChristy and Irene (Spicer) McChristy. Janet married the love of her life, Jonathan, on August 21, 2015, in Fowlerville, Michigan. She will be remembered as a deeply caring person who possessed a unique and fierce determination to follow through on any endeavor to which she committed herself. For more than 35 years she cared for the elderly and those with dementia at care facilities: Briarwood, Ashley Court and Town Commons, and volunteered to coach and chaperone for the Special Olympics. Janet was outspoken, straight forward, boisterous, adventurous, and a person of action who made a difference for those in need. She loved her dogs, was naturally the life of the party, loved to cook, and wanted to be sure everyone was included when family got together. Some felt she also might have missed her calling as a stand up comic because she routinely had groups in stitches.
Her Family… Janet will be missed by her husband Jonathan; her father Ralph; siblings, Charles Edward McChristy, Suzanne McChristy, and Gerald McChristy; grandson Isaac McChristy; Nephews Michael Lowinski Jr, Steven Lowinski; grandnephew Ashton Lowinski, grandniece Annabelle Lowinski. She is preceded in death by her mother Irene and grandparents.
Her Farewell… Janet’s family and friends will gather on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 2-8 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel in Howell, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11 am (10-11 am gathering) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel, with burial at Sharp Cemetery in Linden, Michigan immediately following. Reverend Bill Donahue will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to pay for future designation.
