His Legacy… Jason David Booker, 39, passed away August 2, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1982, in Lansing, Michigan to Robert Booker and Denise (Maurer) Key. Jason married the love of his life, Rochelle, on June 18, 2010, in Toledo, Ohio. Jason will be remembered as a man with an infectious laugh and a broad smile who approached life with full commitment no matter what he was up to. He worked hard, played hard, loved hard, and was dedicated to his work as a painter with meticulous care. Jason could be boisterous and the life of the party, and also had a big heart shown by his amazing hugs and how deeply he loved his family. He enjoyed the outdoors with camping and hiking and at times was also a thrill seeker who loved skydiving and urban exploration in downtown Detroit.
His Family… Jason will be missed by his wife Rochelle; his children James (Ciara) Kelley, Brittany (J.J.) Kelley, Enrique Velasquez; grandchildren Lilliana, Estella, and Remy; his parents Denise (David) Key, and Robert (Patrice) Booker; siblings, Chris (Crystal) Booker, Joe Booker, Nichole (Matthew) Baldwin, Kim (Gary) Werner, and Rob Booker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
His Farewell… Jason’s family and friends will gather from 11 am – 1 pm on Monday, August 8 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel in Howell, Michigan. His Community Farewell will be held on Monday, August 8 at 1 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel. Pastor Tim Wessel will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are suggested to Amber Reineck House providing resources for those impacted by substance use disorder.
