Her Legacy… Jo Anne Jenkins,75, passed away October 5, 2025.  She was born on November 21, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur Jenkins and Marjorie (Ballard) Jenkins. Jo Anne was a beloved 6th grade science teacher at Hartland Farms Intermediate School for 30 years. After retirement, she continued to volunteer at Lacasa and Shalom Lutheran Church. She loved people and everyone loved her. Jo Anne liked to make people laugh and she never knew a stranger. She enjoyed being outdoors, trips to the Soo, gardening, traveling and raising monarch butterflies. Jo Anne had a cabin in the Soo and she loved spending time there. She was incredibly social and maintained lifelong friendships. Jo Anne loved to host family parties and keep the family connected to each other. Jo Anne was a joy to know and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her Family… Jo Anne will be missed by her children, Megan (Donald) LaForge, Joseph (Tiffany) Rayburn; brother, Robert (Ann) Jenkins; grandchildren, Leo and Layla. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Jenkins; and brother Art Jenkins.

Her Farewell… Jo Anne’s Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Shalom Lutheran Church, Pinckney, Michigan. Pastor Dan Quagliata will serve as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Lacasa Center.
