JoAnne K. Heim, 87, passed away very peacefully, January 9, 2026, in Pinckney, MI, with her loving daughter by her side.   

She was born on September 19, 1938, in Grandville, Michigan, to Clifford Worden and Vera (Lovins) Doornbos. JoAnne married the love of her life, Lawrence Heim, on May 6, 1983, in Honolulu, Hawaii, enjoying over 50 years together. JoAnne was very active socially, involved for years with Outdoor Circle, country club activities, antiquing and garage sales, and loved to plan and have great gatherings to entertain family and friends. Her celebrations always included music, great food, decorations, games and activities; JoAnne was a wonderful hostess. In addition, she and Larry travelled the world, visiting Russia, China, Japan, across Europe and the United States, always meeting and making new friends. JoAnne worked in several occupations over life; orthodontic dental assistant, secretary, antiques dealer, and most notably, bead artist, to name just a few. Throughout her life she had many hobbies, including miniatures, quilting, cross stitch, cooking, beading and was a voracious reader of mystery novels, usually reading at least a book a week. JoAnne was also an avid collector of a multitude of things; jewelry, Christmas décor, crystal, tableware, china, linens, artwork and beads. She always offered a willing ear, a comforting shoulder, and years of experience and life advice. JoAnne was loved and adored by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.  

Her Family Legacy… JoAnne is survived by her husband, Larry Heim; her daughter, Nia Noles; stepsons, Larry (Amerjit Gahg) Heim, Matthew (Carolyn) Heim, Marty (Lei) Heim, Ashley (Gabby) Heim, Robbie (Alena) Heim; siblings, Rennae (John) Jacobitz, Craig (Nancy) Doornbos; a multitude of grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Worden and Vera Doornbos and younger brother, Monty Doornbos.
