Joel David Heinecke, 73, passed away September 28, 2025.  He was born on November 3, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan to Paul Heinecke and Louise (Hoyer) Heinecke. Joel attended Huron High School in Ann Arbor, where he was one of the original band of River Rats. He worked as a computer systems technician for many years, retiring from A&D Technology in 2019. 

Joel was a voracious reader and an avid outdoorsman, and had only lately begun developing his skills as a woodworker. His sense of the ridiculous was always endearing, and his various enthusiasms were both amazing and amusing to his family. Joel will be remembered as a friend to his coworkers, a quiet neighbor, and a kind brother. 

Joel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerome, and is survived by his sisters, Christine Lehmann and Charlotte Campbell, and his brothers, Jonathan Heinecke and Justin Heinecke.
