His Legacy… John Edward Extrom, 74, passed away May 3, 2021.  He was born on June 4, 1946, in Dover, New Jersey to John Elmer Extrom and Mary Margaret (Taylor) Extrom. John married the love of his life, Barbara Joyce (Brans) Extrom, on May 20, 1972, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan.  John was a kind, giving and loving husband, dad, papa and friend to many.  He enjoyed nature.  Bonfires, walks in the woods, gardening, collecting coins and stamps, and bird watching were his hobbies. His passion for sports was a favorite pastime along with being a long time season ticket holder for U of M football. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… John will be missed by his wife, Barbara Extrom; his children, Tracy (Ryan) Atkinson, Holly (Marc) Greca; grandchildren, Connor Greca, Grace Greca; furry children, Mugsy and Lucy; family; Ann (Jim) Pepin, Jim (Kim) Brans, Fred (Kathy) Brans, Uncle Don, Aunt “Toots”, Aunt Jeanne; Josh Pepin, Elizabeth Moldenhauer; and many other loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; John and Mary Margaret “Peg” Extrom; sisters, Peggy Kolb, Robin (Barry) Fichter as well as Ferd and Margaret Brans, “Tommy” Brans.

His Farewell… John’s family and friends will gather on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 10AM until the time of his Community Farewell Service at 1PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
