His Legacy… John Thomas Haskin, 73, passed away January 11, 2023. He was born on June 20, 1949, in Wayne, Michigan to John Haskin and Mary (Rodgers) Haskin. John married the love of his life, Jan (Hanks) Haskin, on May 19, 2007, in Kingsley, Michigan. John was an automotive body technician and loved all things car related. He especially liked Ford and Mustangs. He enjoyed racing go carts and drag racing with his brother, Bill. John was one of the founders of the Mustang Club of America and the Michigan Fiero Club. John owned two 1929 Model A’s and was very active in the Motor City Model A Club and the Livingston A’s. John also loved history, John Wayne, and cowboy movies. John and his wife, Jan, loved to travel throughout the U.S. and internationally. John was very outgoing and he loved different varieties of music, from oldies to opera and classical. John was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
His Family… John will be missed by his wife, Jan Haskin; his children, Cheryl (Neal) Mulkey, Steve Haskin; step-daughter, Patty (Steve) Prendergast; five sisters; grandchildren, Evan, Nathan, Carson, Kyra, David, and Katie. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Haskin; and brother, Bill Haskin.
His Farewell… John’s family and friends will gather from 11:00AM-1:00PM, Monday, January 16, 2023, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will follow at 1:00PM. Chaplain Joseph Griebe will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to ALS of Michigan.
