His Legacy… John David Hocking Sr., 65, passed away October 21, 2025.  He was born on November 25, 1959, in Highland Park, Michigan to Robert Hocking and Frances (Smith) Hocking. John graduated from Redford Union High School and opened his own pizzeria business before going to trade school to get his journeyman’s license. John married the love of his life, Faye Mark, on November 22, 1997, in Hamburg, Michigan.   He will be remembered for his generosity, loving and caring spirit, who adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will also be remembered for his leadership along with his wife, Faye, for planning many family trips to Montana with anyone who would join them, and being the steward of the family cabin where he enjoyed yearly trips with family and friends. John loved to go outdoors camping, fishing, playing softball and traveling. He will leave fond memories in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. 

His Family… John will be missed by his wife, Faye Hocking; his children, John (Eva) Hocking Jr., Kayley Hocking (Brendan Garvey); mother, Frances Hocking); siblings, Robert (Sue) Hocking, Steve (Terri) Hocking, Gary (Jill) Hocking, Anna (Doug) Sparkman, Laura (Gary) Rumohr, Marilyn (Steve) Frazier;  grandchildren, Ethan, Mallie, Landon; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Hocking, and his aunt, “Lynn” Hocking.
