John Dohany Jacobs

His Legacy… John Dohany Jacobs, age 81, passed away February 2, 2023. He was born on October 8, 1941 in Highland Park, MI to Theodore and Gwendolyn (Dohany) Jacobs. John married the love of his life, Mary Arbanas, on February 20, 1965 in Detroit, MI. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. John was a Detroit police officer for 35 years. He was a movie buff and liked technology. In his spare time, John enjoyed going to garage sales, singing karaoke, spending time outdoors, watching sports, and camping in the upper peninsula. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… John leaves behind his wife, Mary; children, John F. (Rania) Jacobs, Laura (Darryl) Skonieski, Janet (Rick) Villalba; grandchildren, Johnny (Shakira), Sarah (Nick), Patrick, Alexa, Noah, Rani, Samantha, Rosemary, Jewell; and great grandchildren, Anya, Leia, and Luke. He is preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell… John’s Community Farewell will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2022 at 11AM at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton with a gathering beginning at 9AM until the time of service.
