John J. “Johnny” Jones, 68, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026.
John was born on May 22, 1958, in Livonia, Michigan, and was raised with deep roots in a Michigan farming family. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic, practical skills, and an appreciation for helping others—qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
John was a talented mechanic and fabricator who could build, fix, and create just about anything. He was happiest working with his hands, often spending time in his pole-barn shop bringing ideas to life and finding a way to make things work. He also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
Known to many as Johnny, he had a big heart and a way of making people feel welcome. He valued friendship, a good story, and shared laughter, and he was a friend to many. Those who knew him will remember his presence, his stories, his sense of humor, and the many memories he leaves behind.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Jones; his parents, Albert and Joan Jones; his daughter, Jodie J. Jones; and his sister, Julie Collins.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri Jo Kizer and Jessica Stelzer; his brothers, Jeff Jones and Jack Jones; his grandchildren, Ava Jo Kizer, Ella Stelzer, Anthony Dudek, Rob Stelzer Jr., Mya Stelzer, Kampbell Kizer, Layne Kizer and Ella Stelzer; and his nieces and nephews, Sara Thalacker, Travis Collins, Jennifer Jones, Lindsey Jones, and David Jones, as well as extended family and many dear friends.
John will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, but the stories, laughter, lessons, and memories he left behind will continue to live on in all whose lives he touched.
John’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 3:00PM, at Benchmark Church, 5530 Runyan Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan. Please leave a message of comfort for John’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com
