John Mario Gestro

His Legacy… John Mario Gestro, age 88, passed away February 22, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1934, in Detroit, MI to Onorina and Angelo Gestro. John married the love of his life, Sandra Fleig, on June 6, 1959, in Detroit, MI. He served in the US Army. In John’s spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was also in a bowling league. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

His Family… John leaves behind his son, (Michael) Margie; grandsons, Eric (Lindsay), Mitchell; and great granddaughter, Josie Mae. He is also survived by his brother, Edward. John is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; and son, John.

His Farewell… John’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11AM (gathering beginning at 9:30AM) at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howell. Father Francis George will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Parkinson’s Foundation.
