Jon Coddington Obituary

Coddington, Jon

Pinckney, MI

His Legacy…Jon Kirk Coddington, 67, passed away August 12, 2025.  He was born on November 19, 1957, in Howell, Michigan to Russell Coddington and Judith (Jennings) Coddington. Jon married the love of his life, Darlene Boyd, on July 8, 1978, in Howell, Michigan.  Jon will be remembered as a quiet but helpful man, showing kindness to all, present but never wanting the spotlight. Jon worked as a machinist for 49 years, the last being at Nagel Precision Inc. of Ann Arbor, and 9 years as a volunteer firefighter for Putnam Township. Jon was a proud owner of a 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 XL “Ragtop”, and a 200 year old home for which he personally maintained. Jon enjoyed woodworking, making his own tables and cabinets, watching Hallmark Christmas movies and Westerns starring John Wayne, and enjoyed reading.  Most of all, however, Jon’s favorite time was time spent with his family. They will always remember his phrases; “N’ stuff”, “Moosa, Moosa”, and “I’ve got it”. Jon was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

His Family… Jon will be missed by his wife, Darlene Coddington; his children, Calvin (Jessica) Coddington and Brook (Altorian) Derrick; Mother, Doris Coddington; siblings, Mark Coddington, Chris Church, Sherrill Evans, Harrison Coddington,; grandchildren Sean Whittenburg, Anna Whittenburg, Deekon Coddington, McKenna Coddington, Altorian “Aj” Derrick Junior, Sisters-in-Law; Caryn Boyd and Jamie Sember, and other family. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Judith Coddington.

His Farewell… Jon’s family and friends will gather at a date to be announced. Memorial contributions are suggested to Boxer Haven Rescue. Please leave a message of comfort for Jon’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
