Jachim, Josef
Howell, Michigan
His Legacy… Josef Jachim, 96, passed away June 19, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1929, in Boretice, Czechoslovakia to Josef Jachim and Karolina (Stavikova) Jachim. As a young man, Josef was wrongly accused of being connected with an underground coalition to overthrow the government. As a result, he escaped by the grace of God from Czechoslovakia to Austria. Later, Josef came to the United States and met the love of his life, Kay Loomis, marrying her on June 15, 1963 in Hubbardston, Michigan. He will be remembered as a man of sincere faith in God, strong work ethic and devotion to his family. Josef had an enormous giving spirit and loved to personally pick out stuffed animals for each of the grandkids. He could always be found working on projects or in his cherished garden. He enjoyed volunteering in the community garden and was a member of Rice Memorial Church and Lola Valley Church in Redford, Michigan for many years. He will hold a special place in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to know and love him.
His Family… Josef will be missed by his children, David (Jill) Jachim; grandchildren, Jordan, Aidan, Amara, Tirzah; niece and nephew, Eliska and Stan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Jachim; son, Josef Robert “JR” Jachim; sister Vera Nemeckova.
