Medlen, Josephine
Howell, Michigan
Her Legacy… Josephine E. Medlen, “Jo”, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. She was born on March 27, 1932, in Port Huron, Michigan, to Ralph and Theresa (Vargo) Lozano. Josephine married the love of her life, J.D. Medlen, on September 9, 1976, in Livonia, Michigan. Their years together were filled with devotion, companionship, and love.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her. Jo had a special gift for always attending to the needs of others. She expressed her love most often through cooking—and she delighted in baking cookies for family and friends for nearly every occasion. Her compassion extended beyond her home through her volunteer work at the hospital, where she dedicated her time to caring for those in need. Jo also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, an enthusiastic reader, and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. Jo’s kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
