Her Legacy… Judith Ellen Sherman, 85, passed away December 31, 2024. She was born on February 28, 1939, in Highland Park, Michigan to John Kraase and Mildred (Papke) Kraase. Judith married the love of her life, James Sherman, on February 6, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. Judith worked as a secretary at Commercial Steele right after High School. Once she started her family, she stayed home and was a devoted wife and mother. Judith was a member of the Brighton Jayceettes, where she made lifelong friendships. She loved children, and offered childcare to many of her neighbor’s children. Judith was a competitive roller skater and passed her love of roller skating to her children. She enjoyed gardening, home decorating, creating artificial flower arrangements and basking in the sun in her family’s backyard pool. Judith was a joy to know and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her Family… Judith will be missed by her husband, James Sherman; her children, Debra Read, Susan (Mark) McPherson, Thomas (Jackie) Sherman, Daniel (Ang) Sherman; sister, Karen (Skip) Krassa; grandchildren, TJ McPherson, McKenzie McPherson, Matt Sherman; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Kraase; son, Mark Sherman; brother, Dale Kraase; and son-in-law, Todd Read.
Her Farewell… Judith’s family and friends will gather Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 2:00PM-6:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Judith’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:30AM (9:30AM gathering), at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Fr. Joshua Fons will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Pregnancy Help Clinic or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
