On August 26, 2023 Judy Tokai, known to her family as The Queen, completed her task of being the best matriarch any family has ever seen. She paves the way to heaven for her husband of 61 years, Michael Tokai. Also missing her here, but ready to follow her far are her daughters Michele Macke (Eric), Colleen Monroe (Mike), Ann Jones (Don), Katherine Burnside (Scott), and Jamie Aumend.  Since she has mothered many beyond her household there are far too many individuals to mention who were privileged to call her a friend or family. She is survived by her 13 grandchildren and 7 (soon to be 8) great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Velma Ward and siblings Patricia LaBrenz, Jo Ann Easterbrook, James Ward, Joe Ward, Velma Koch, and Larry Ward. She lived by the motto that family is not just an important thing, it’s the only thing. Judy’s Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023    with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM (Gathering 9:30AM) at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Ricket Road, Brighton, MI.  Fr. Mathias Thelen will serve as celebrant. Donations in her name may be made to Gleaners Community Food Bank.
