Her Legacy… Julie Ann O’Hara, 41, passed away September 19, 2025. She was born on March 06, 1984, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Edward Macha and Virginia (Davis) Macha. Julie married the love of her life, Patrick O’Hara, on July 18, 2009, in Oakland Twp, Michigan. Julie received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University and her master’s degree in education from the University of Houston. She started her career in Houston, Texas in 2006 as an elementary school teacher. Julie became very close with her students, particularly those whose second language was English; she took Spanish classes so that she could connect better with them and their parents. In 2015, she came back to Michigan and was an elementary school teacher in Plymouth/Canton schools, rising to become Assistant Principal. Julie loved and cared deeply for her students and had a positive lasting impact. She was very active, having ran several half marathons and taught several classes at Lifetime Fitness. Julie was very generous and caring; she had a heart of gold. She was strong-willed and determined not to let her cancer define her. Julie had a strong belief in God that gave her strength through her illness and she read devotionals daily. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. Being a mom to Breanne was the most important thing to her, she adored her and was an amazing mother. Julie was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
