Her Legacy… Karen Ann Buckberrough, 75, passed away April 6, 2020 after battling pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 20, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Harry, Jr. and Marion (Lewis) Nicholson. Karen married the love of her life, Edward George Buckberrough, on August 28, 1965, in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She will be remembered as strong, loving, passionate Catholic woman. She was a mom to many and always present for her family and friends. You never left her dinner table without to-go bags, which always included her highly requested cheesy-potatoes and the infamous Nicholson German Potato Salad. Her warm smile and comforting blue eyes will be missed the most by her family.
Her Family… Karen will be missed by her nieces and nephews- Cheryl (Nicholson)Mayer, Marie Bulak, Cynthia Bandlow, Sandra Bandlow, Harold Bandlow, Monica (Bandlow) Curtis, Daniel Bandlow, Jennifer Nicholson, Laura (Nicholson) Parrott, Paul Buckberrough, Thomas Buckberrough, David Buckberrough, Lisa (Buckberrough) Chamberlin, James Dean Buckberrough, and Scott Buckberrough. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Buckberrough, her parents Harry, Jr. and Marion Nicholson and her siblings; Charlie Nicholson, Janet (Nicholson) Bandlow, and her annoying baby-brother Danny Nicholson. There will also be a few black labs waiting for her in heaven.
Her Farewell… Karen’s family and friends will gather Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM (10am gathering) for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 9565 Musch Road, Brighton, Michigan. Father John Rocus will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Livingston County Humane Society and the American Cancer Society.
