Her Legacy… Karis Lynn Steadman, age 12, passed away November 15, 2022. She was born on April 30, 2010 to Benjamin and Shelley (Staley) Steadman. She will be remembered as an independent and sometimes sassy girl who loved everything about the outdoors and made friends everywhere she went. People described her as “Pure Light.” Karis had an interest in psychology and desired to help other people and animals in her effort to make the world a better place. She was also a magnet for young children who loved to hang out with her. Karis was a natural on horseback, riding from the time she was three years old, attending equine camps, and allowing her horse, Chexy, to nurture the spirits of neighbors and friends. She was an active kid, playing violin, riding her bike, swimming, drawing and painting, and hanging out with friends. In her family, Karis took many roles depending on the need -- sometimes she was the organizer, other times moral support, and often a “Mini Mom,” following the example of her own mother.
Her Family… Karis will be missed by her parents; brother, Gabriel; and Aimee Bailey; grandparents, Rick and Connie Staley, Ed and Jimmie Wait, Hank and Cherie Steadman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronnie Bell. Karis will also be missed by her school and community.
