Kathleen Kay Moore, 82, passed away April 4, 2026. She was born on May 13, 1943, in Greensburg, Indiana to Merle and Evelyn Platt. Katie grew up in the town of Shelbyville, Indiana and lived in several states throughout her life always to return to Indiana, which she was proud to call home.
Katie was fortunate to have been blessed with two loving husbands in her life, Sam Hunt and Steve Moore.
Although Katie only had one child, Scott Hunt, there were many that were proud to call her mom, as she loved and cared for others, "adopting" them into her family and into her t1eart.
Katie was a person of deep Christian faith, always active in her church. She enjoyed the warmer weather months by swimming, boating and gardening at her home on Sweetwater Lake. As the weather turned colder, her focus would turn to rooting for the Purdue Boilermakers and the Indianapolis Colts. She expressed her love through cooking, knitting and quilting, often gifting her creations to friends and family. These beautiful items will continue to be cherished and provide warmth and comfort to those she loved for many years to come.
Katie will be deeply missed, forever remembered and lovingly held in the hearts of those who knew her.
Her Family ... Katie is survived by her son Scott (Andrea) Hunt; stepson Pete (Michelle) Maudlin; step-grandchildren Jessica (Thomas) Dettman, Peter (Samantha) Maudlin and their daughter Charlie; brother Jerry (Lynda) Platt; niece Julie (Brian) Stover and their sons Sam and Scott. She is preceded in death by her parents Merle and Evelyn Platt and her husband’s Sam Hunt and Steve Moore.
Her Farewell ... Katie's family will gather privately in Michigan. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date in Nineveh, Indiana. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Please leave a message of comfort for Katie's family at 1- 877-231-7900, or sign her guestbook at www.borekjennings.com
