Rector, Kelly
Brighton, MI
Her Legacy… Kelly Lynn Rector, 62, passed away October 9, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1962, in Great Falls, Montana to Colonel Robert Albertson, USAF and Florence (Jordan) Albertson. Kelly married the love of her life, James Rector, on August 20, 1983, in Fairfax, Virginia. Kelly had a big heart and absolutely loved people; she made friends everywhere that she went. As a child of the military, Kelly lived all over the country. However, she found her forever home in her beloved Michigan. She was incredibly smart and enjoyed the pep club, forensics and theater in school. She loved all sports, and cheered on every team from the local high school, U.S. Naval Academy to the Detroit Lions. Kelly loved spending time at her family’s beach house in Manasquan, New Jersey, built by her great-grandparents in the 1940’s. She was an excellent cook, and was famous for her chicken enchiladas. Kelly loved the holidays and hosting The Eve Before the Eve. She was her family’s biggest fan and absolutely adored being “Nani” to her beloved grandchildren. Kelly was the brightest ray of sunshine, a light in every room she entered and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her Family… Kelly will never be forgotten by her husband of 42 years, James Rector; her children, James (Cindy) Rector II, Robert (Kelly) Rector, Kaitlin (Steven) Measel; siblings, Michael (Stacey) Albertson, Tracey (Chip) Baker; grandchildren, James, Sophia, Nora, Steven, Bobby, Fiona; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Robert and Florence Albertson.
Her Farewell… Kelly’s family and friends will gather for her Memorial Service Saturday, November 8th at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Hamburg, Michigan. The visitation will be held 10am – 12pm, services to follow 12pm-1pm.
