His Legacy… Kenneth Wayne Johnson, 71, passed away September 11, 2025.  He was born on April 12, 1954, in Salem, Kentucky (raised in Smithland, Kentucky), to Kenneth Johnson and Monnie (Edmond) Johnson. Wayne married the love of his life, Victoria Laraway, on November 26, 1976, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wayne spent his career as a machinist at Ford Motor Company. He had a strong work ethic, a trait that he passed down to his children. There was never a dull moment when Wayne was around, he could always make you laugh, especially in stressful situations. Wayne loved classic cars and cruising down Woodward Ave in his hot rod for the car shows. He enjoyed bird watching and had a soft spot for cats. Wayne also liked watching Nascar. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who always put family first and was a wonderful role model. His grandkids were the most important part of his world. Wayne was a joy to know and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

His Family… Wayne will be missed by his wife, Victoria Johnson; his children, David (Karen) Vontom, Amy (T.J.) Farley, Dan (Helen) Vontom, Sherri (Neal) Squire; sister, Dianne Johnson; grandchildren, Shelbie (Jessie), Katie (Amir), Alyssa (Devan), Kyle (Gretchen), Carson, Emma, Michael (Yaël), Madison; great grandchildren, Grace and Everly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Monnie Johnson.

His Farewell… Wayne’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 4:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Pastor Dan Quagliata will serve as celebrant.
