His Legacy… Larry Gene Wylie, 72, passed away March 14, 2026. He was born on March 29, 1953, in Monroe, Michigan to William Wylie Sr. and Betty (Daniels) Wylie. Larry married the love of his life, Catherine Repovz, on December 23, 1978. They were married at St. Paul of the Cross Monastery in Detroit, Michigan. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Larry worked as an accountant for U of M medical school, retiring after 26 years. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family was most important in his life, and he had a strong faith in Jesus. Larry had a great sense of humor and could always make people laugh. He was genuine, down to earth and loving. Larry was incredibly dependable and loyal; he was always there for those who needed help. He enjoyed working on projects around the house, including building decks, installing fences and landscaping; skills that were self-taught. Larry enjoyed watching Michigan sports with his sons, he especially liked football; having played in both high school and the Air Force. Larry was adored by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Larry will be missed by his wife, Catherine Wylie; his children, John Wylie, Julie (Shea) Dwyer, Mark Wylie; siblings, Cathy (James) Knezevich, Terry Wylie; grandchildren, Cass William Dwyer, Sophie Grace Dwyer, Quinn Catherine Dwyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Wylie; brother, William Wylie Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Sarah Repovz.
His Farewell…Larry’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00AM (10:00AM gathering), at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Father Jonathan Perrotta will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Spirit Catholic School.
