His Legacy… Lawrence Joseph Hassell, 77, passed away March 11, 2024. He was born on January 13, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York to Lawrence L. Hassell and Joan (O’Connor) Hassell. Lawrence married the love of his life, Cheryl (Augustine) Hassell, on October 7, 1972, in Buffalo, New York. Larry was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He was very social and loved people, making friends wherever he went. Larry was an avid sports fan and was a track star in high school, winning many awards for his running abilities. Larry was very knowledgeable with trivia and loved Jeopardy. He had a great sense for navigation, his family and friends always called him for directions. When GPS came out he missed helping people find their way to their destination. Larry had a great sense of humor and took great joy in making people laugh. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Larry was a joy to know and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Larry will be missed by his wife, Cheryl Hassell; his children, Sean (Tricia) Hassell, Ryan Hassell, Marc Hassell; siblings, Nancy Joan Hassell, Tom (Nancy) Hassell, Maureen (Joe) Santiago, Frank Hassell, Bob (Diane Kiladis) Hassell; grandchildren, Bella, Noah; sister-in-law, Deb (Dennis) Modrzynski; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Joan Hassell.

His Farewell… Larry’s family and friends will gather at a later time to be determined. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a special needs fund for future planning for Larry’s son Marc.
