Her Legacy… Lenora Martha LaRoe, 84, passed away April 13, 2024. She was born on October 2, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Frederik Horning and Martha (Furthmueller) Horning. Lenora loved music and was talented at playing the accordion. She collected any kind of figurine that had an accordion, amassing over 1,000 throughout her life. Lenora was the organist at Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter, Michigan for over 30 years and a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She loved going to see the Mariner Band in Ann Arbor, and Three Men & a Tenor in Dexter. Lenora had a love for Elvis and going to musicals. She enjoyed traveling, she especially loved visiting Pearl Harbor on a trip to Hawaii. Lenora enjoyed computer games, coloring and puzzles. She was incredibly loving and honest, and she adored her grandbabies. Lenora was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Her Family… Lenora will be missed by her children, Laura (Seth) McNair, Edward (Lisa) LaRoe, Mark LaRoe; grandchildren; Shannon (Nan), Ashley, Adrian (Janiya), Jordan, Amanda (Dustin); great grandchildren, Katelynn (Maegan), Skylar, Makenzie, Maya, Hailey, Noah; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederik and Martha Horning; daughter, Heidi LaRoe; infant daughter, Robin LaRoe; brother, Norman Horning; and sister, Doris Bowling.
Her Farewell… Lenora’s family and friends will gather on June 1, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan at a time to be determined. Pastor Jacob Haag will serve as celebrant.
