Her Legacy… Linda Kathleen Gerdel, 70, passed away September 14, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1955, in Detroit, MI to Paul Hauger and Laura (Dicker) Hauger. Linda married the love of her life, Edward Charles Gerdel, on December 17, 1977, in Sterling Heights, MI. She will be remembered as a jokester and prankster, thoughtful of others, and a great musician and singer. Linda played guitar and banjo, sung for the Shelby Township Choir, and was known for her playful pranks on her husband and daughter. Linda was a huge Tigers baseball fan and once traveled with Katy her mother-in-law to the US to attend Tigers games. Linda had also lived lived with Kathy Ives for over 20 years, Kathy was family to Linda. Linda will be remembered as fun and playful, to all that interacted with her.
Her Family… Linda will be missed by her children, Chelsea (Nickelas) Woods, Stephanie (Ben) Suwarato, and Sandy (Douglas) Buhrer; grandchildren, Alia Woods, Spencer Suwarato, Marlise Buhrer, Douglas Buhrer, and Rebakah Buhrer; and brother Johnathan (Andrea) Hauger. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Gerdel; parents, Paul and Lara Hauger; granddaughter Emma Woods; and mother-in-law Katie Swarthout.
