Lori Franz, age 65, of Howell, MI, was taken from us too soon on Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home residence after a long battle with cancer.  She was born May 31, 1960, in Flint, MI, a daughter of Carl and Denice (Joanne) Franz.

Lori was a proud alumnus of Michigan State University and of Toledo University.  She worked in varying roles for an IT specialist for database development for the State of Michigan for 35 years.  

She was an avid supporter of MSU Spartans athletics, Detroit Tigers baseball and Detroit Lions football, and even kept tabs on the professional careers of her favorite MSU players.  Lori was a competitive cards player, especially during the regular family pinochle games and she was a devoted cat-mom to a number of cats over the years. She was also a prolific crafter, dabbling in many areas, but was most drawn to crocheting.  A personal challenge she took on was to make a multitude of crocheted hats and caps, donating them to various charities.

Lori is survived by her parents Carl and Joanne Franz, sister, Barbara Franz and brother, Carl Franz, and nephews Mike, Matt (Megan), Tommy (Kelly) and niece Jenny (Kristen).

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
