His Legacy… Louis Caira, 83, died June 6, 2021.  He was born May 29, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA to Louis and Grace Rose Caira, both deceased. He married Kristin Backus, in 1965, in Lima, OH. A lifelong car enthusiast and Ford engineer, Lou loved NASCAR, car shows and restoring classic Mustangs. Always an avid reader and music lover, upon his retirement, he added woodturning to his many interests.  One of his greatest joys was the bi-annual family trip to the ocean for a week of jumping waves, sand sculpting, and incredible family bonding throughout 4 generations-a 25 year tradition.

His Family… Lou will be missed by his wife, Kris; his children, David (Karen) Caira and Kari(Scott) Yergin; grandchildren, Kaylee (Connor) DeBussey, Zoe Caira, Colin Yergin, Emma Yergin and Sophia Yergin; brothers, Anthony and Richard Caira; brother in law, Harold Grimm and many nieces and nephews.

His Farewell… Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00AM, Thursday, June 17 at St. John Catholic Church, Howell, Michigan, with his Mass of Christian Burial immediately following.
