Her Legacy… Margaret Victoria Derda, 102, passed away November 29, 2022. She was born on December 15, 1919, in Bremond, Texas to Frank and Anna (Wendyker) Filar. Margaret will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her excellent cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Most of all, she was devoted to her Catholic faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Family… Margaret leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Darlene Olesko; stepson, Thomas (Sharon) Derda; grandchildren, Keith (Ann) Michael (Julie), Deborah (Michael), Matthew (Krista), Michelle (Jeffrey); 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her first husband, John Olesko; second husband, Ed Derda; and son, Ron Olesko.
Her Farewell… Margaret’s family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:30am (9:30am gathering) at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Ricket Rd., Brighton, Michigan. Father Miguel Colunga will serve as celebrant. She will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
