Her Legacy… Margaret Elaine Nikanowicz, 75, passed away May 11, 2022. She was born on September 2, 1946, in Gurney, Wisconsin to Clifford Luoma and Ruth (Sturkol) Luoma. Margaret married the love of her life, Richard Nikanowicz, on October 27 1967, in Detroit, Michigan. She and Richard met when mutual friends gave him her phone number. After only a few dates they knew they were in love and were married 6 months later! She cherished having family visit her. She also loved reading, doing puzzles and sitting outside watching nature.

Her Family… Margaret will be missed by her husband, Richard Nikanowicz; children, Ruth (Rick) Harris, Laura (Jeff) Sponaas, Clayton Nikanowicz; sister, Sharon Trenkle; grandchildren, Isaac (Becky) Harris, David, John, Will, Abby, and Parker; great grandchildren, Evelyn, Jewel, Kira; many other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Luoma.

Her Farewell… Margaret’s family and friends will gather Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 4PM-8PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel in Hamburg, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 11:00AM (10:00AM gathering) at Peoples Church-Pinckney, 500 W Main St., Pinckney, MI. Pastor Bonnie will serve as celebrant.
