Her Legacy… Margaret Smith, age 87, passed away June 26, 2025 with
family by her side. Margie was born March 1, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Paul
and Margaret (Derr) Ste. Marie, as the sixth of their nine children. She
married the love of her life Patrick Smith on August 14, 1983 in
Waterford Township, MI. Margie was strong in her Catholic faith, and
exhibited that devotion through volunteering at the Pregnancy Help
Clinic, Holy Spirit Catholic Church Bookstore, and MediLodge in Howell.
"Aunt Margie" had a strong sense of family, spoiling and loving on her
many nieces and nephews and hosting numerous family gatherings
throughout the years. She was reliably a wonderful companion to be
around, possessing a sense of humor and a compassionate listening ear.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Margie leaves behind her stepson, Bruce (Joni) Smith; and a
multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great
nieces, and great great nephews. She is preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Pat; and siblings, Dolores Brazitis, Loretta Foley,
Mary Bearinger, Gini Nichols, Stella Ste. Marie (Iatrow), Paul Ste.
Marie, Ann Sego, and Vincent Ste. Marie.

Her Farewell… Margie’s family and friends will gather on Wednesday, July
2, 2025 from 2-9pm (Rosary at 7pm) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in
Howell, MI. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Howell, with a 9:30am Gathering and 10:30am
Mass of Christian Burial. Margie will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery in Southfield, MI. Memorial contributions are suggested to the
