Margaret Rosemary Tambe, 87, passed away March 16, 2024. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Wick, Scotland to George Wood and Margaret (Sutherland) Wood. Rosemary married the love of her life, Alan Tambe, on September 6, 1961, in Denver, Colorado. After the birth of their first child, they moved to Alan’s native country of Syria while he completed his army duty. The family eventually settled in Cleveland, Ohio. Family meant everything to Rosemary, and she regularly corresponded with and sent gifts to loved ones in Scotland, Syria, France and across the States. Rosemary and Alan opened their home over the course of many years to relatives from far and wide for extended visits. She will be remembered as a nurse turned devoted mother and homemaker, skilled in cooking and baking from scratch, at crochet, knitting, sewing, crafts, landscaping and gardening. The rooms of her home were filled with her handiwork and photographs of everyone she loved, including the family cats and dogs. All animals were precious to her – even the salamanders and “little froggies” she rescued nearly every summer morning from their swimming pool. Her grandchildren delighted in playing in the kiddie kitchenette that she stocked with empty canisters, spice cans, resale kitchen utensils and toys. Rosemary put love into everything she touched and never expected to be acknowledged for working long, hard hours at home, especially when the children and grandchildren gathered for an extended holiday every summer.
Rosemary will be missed by her husband, Alan Tambe; her children, Cindy (Kevin) Tambe-Clegg and Sheila (Michel) Sourieau; her brother, David (Sue) Wood; grandchildren Colin, Holly (Noah), Adrien (Aurélie), Alan and Louis; great grandchildren Levi, Charlotte and Apolline; nephews Rob and Michael (Megan); niece Deb (Claude). In addition to her parents, Rosemary is preceded in death by her brother, Gardiner (Geeta) Wood and her granddaughter, Sheila.
Rosemary’s family will gather at a later date to be determined. Please leave a message of comfort for Rosemary’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign her guestbook at www.borekjennings.com
