Her Legacy… Marie Katherine Edwards, 79, passed away on June 30th, 2026. She was born on January 20th, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to Hugh and Christine (Elkins) Connaghan. Kathy married Glen Edwards, on August 11th, 1998, in Brighton, Michigan. Kathy will be remembered as an avid reader, she could often be found with a good book in hand, always eager to learn something new or lose herself in a favorite story. Her love of flowers and gardening was evident in the colorful blooms she carefully nurtured each season, creating peaceful spaces that reflected her gentle spirit. She also found great happiness in the kitchen, where preparing meals for family and friends was one of the many ways she showed her love. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing stories, and creating cherished memories that will remain in their hearts forever. Throughout her life, she believed in giving back to others. She volunteered throughout her community whenever there was a need. She also opened her home and heart by operating an in-home daycare, where she lovingly cared for children as if they were her own. She enjoyed antiquing, always delighted by the history and stories hidden within treasured finds. Kathy found great joy bowling, where her competitive nature, and love of the game created countless lasting memories with friends and family. For just over ten years, she proudly called Tellico Village, Tennessee, home. There she built lasting friendships, embraced the beauty of the area, and volunteered in the community. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her family, the many lives she touched, and the countless memories she created.
