Her Legacy… Marie Veronica Fiorillo, 83, passed away on September 8, 2023.  She was born on October 27, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to John McMaster and Veronica (Meagher) McMaster. Marie married the love of her life, Anthony Dominic Fiorillo, on November 21, 1959, in Detroit, MI. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend.  She was raised in Detroit, attending St. Gabriel’s school and then the University of Detroit where she met Tony.  After raising her family from Detroit to Chicago to Franklin and Winchester, Massachusetts, Indiana, Greenwich, and finally back to Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where she worked as a church secretary at Our Lady Star of the Sea. She was a devoted Girl Scout leader for 15 years as well as chartered a youth community center in Winchester. They eventually settled in Brighton, Michigan for the last two decades as active members of the community and St. Patrick’s Parish.  

Her Family… Veronica will be missed by her husband, Anthony(Tony); her children Therese Shortt (William), Michael Fiorillo, Thomas Fiorillo, Mary Engstrom(Thomas), Robert Fiorillo, Katherine Krizan(Kurt), David Fiorillo(Sara), 18 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren, her brother Gerald McMaster, sisters-in-law; Helen, Joan, Mary Jo, Delphine, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Veronica McMaster, brothers; Jack, Leo, Gerard, and Bernard and sister-in-law, Barbara. 

Her Farewell… Veronica’s family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 13th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Road, Brighton, Michigan. Viewing will precede mass at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.  Father Mathias will serve as celebrant.
