Her Legacy…Marilynn Romayne Edwards, 90, passed away December 2, 2025.  She was born on November 3, 1935, in Cyclone, Pennsylvania to Ellis Gorrell and Maude (McIntyre) Gorrell. Marilynn married the love of her life, Robert Edwards, on December 24, 1955 in Cyclone, Pennsylvania.  Marilynn will be remembered as a strong and faithful woman whose life was shaped by love, devotion to family, and faith in God. She cared deeply for her family and prayed for each person by name every day. She was devoted to her family. Marilynn loved animals and was sad she could not have a pet near the end. Music was one of her gifts and she shared it freely. In her early years she was a soloist at the Christian Missionary Alliance church in Pennsylvania. Even after her illness made many things more difficult she continued to sing. Marilynn often visited Pennsylvania which she called home, among the mountains she treasured. Her family remembers her deep commitment to those she loved. Those who knew her will remember her humble spirit, steady devotion, and fierce love. Marilynn leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shape the lives of those she held close.

Her Family… Marilynn will be missed by her; her daughters, Margo Edwards and Marcia Edwards; grandchildren, Ellis (Danielle) Fortune, and Ruth (Darrel) Hinz; great grandchildren, Sabastian Edwards-Patton, Katarina Edwards-Britton, Mataya Fortune, Jaiden Edwards-Pawlak, Elijah Fortune, Phoenix Ratliff, Hunter Hinz, Paishence Ratliff, Edynn Fortune, Zorriannah Hinz; and her beloved “Baby Dog”. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Maude Gorrell, husband Robert Edwards, and son Michael J. Edwards.

Her Farewell… Marilynn’s Community Farewell will be held on Monday December 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM (10:00 AM gathering) at the Ypsilanti Free Methodist Church, 1800 Packard St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
