Mark Henry Doorlag, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born on September 6, 1967 in Kalamazoo, MI to Henry and Alice (Van Meekeren) Doorlag. Mark married his best friend and the love of his life, Leslie A. Cribbins on July 11, 1997 at Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church (AACRC).
Mark was a kind, gentle, godly, fun and fun-loving husband and father. In the summer, he loved riding roller-coasters at Cedar Point, biking, boating and camping with family. In the winter, he enjoyed skiing with his family and planning ski-trips for his children’s school. Mark spent his life serving God and others, and served as a coach, leader and teacher of children at Ann Arbor Christian School (AACS) and AACRC. He served as a Deacon at AACRC, a board member for the Community Assistance Program (C.A.P.) in Detroit, and as IT Committee Chair at AACS. Mark graduated from Calvin College in 1989 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for the EPA Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife Leslie and their children, Eva, Jack and Cole, his sisters, Linda (Ken) Bosma and Debra (Kevin) Bosch both of Zeeland, MI, his in-laws; Deb (Bob) Nation of Sarasota, FL, Dale (Renda) Cribbins, Muskegon, MI, Diana (Michael) Szymkowiak of Reese, MI, Denise Martinchek, Ludington, MI, David Cribbins, Mustang, OK, Louis (Reilly) Cribbins and Leon (Ariel) Cribbins, both of Dexter, MI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alice Doorlag.
Mark’s family and friends will gather from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, at Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church (www.aacrc.org), 1717 Broadway, Ann Arbor, with Rev.
