His Legacy…Mark Gillis, 39, passed away on June 8th. He was born on June 28, 1982, at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico to John Gillis and Karen (Layton) Gillis. Mark married the love of his life, Stacy, on July 23, 2011 on the steps of the Howell Library in downtown Howell. Mark will be remembered as a man who loved life. He enjoyed reading, music and music trivia, all varieties of sports including baseball and golf. He loved learning about history, researching all varieties of things, and knew nearly every plane one might see in the air or on an air force base. Mark could be found regularly playing with his kids, hanging with friends, eating spicy food, watching true crime on TV, or even vacuuming.
His Family… Mark will be missed by his wife Stacy; his children, Kennedy and Jack; parents John and Karen;; siblings, Ryan with Kristina Gillis, and David Gillis; father-in-law and mother-in-law Steve and Sue Holcomb, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shannon and Patrick McIntyre; niece Finn McIntyre, and will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
His Farewell… The family will have a Celebration Of Life Gathering for Mark at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Howell Nature Center or the Howell Library.
