Her Legacy… Marlene Jean Benson, age 83, passed away January 7, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1938, in Detroit, MI to Robert and Sophie (Eaves) Huebner. Marlene married the love of her life, Richard Benson, on April 7, 1962 in Dearborn, MI at St. Paul Lutheran Church, and they were blessed with 54 loving years together. She was the business manager of the family business, B&B catering and Benny’s Bar & Grill. Marlene liked horses and had a two-time World Champion horse, Whitaker’s Sensation. Her faith was also very important to her. Most of all, Marlene loved spending time with her family at their beautiful lake home and caring for others. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Family… Marlene is survived her children, Richard Hans Benson II and Linda Lee (Michael) Bell; grandchildren, Rachel Barnett, Matthew Barnett, Emily (Mike) Dedes and Zachary Bell; and great grandchildren, Penelope, Peyton, and Michael Dedes. She is also survived by siblings, Eileen Klein, Doris Deming, Pat O’Donnell, and Robert “Butch” Huebner. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard.
