His Legacy… Martin Turmalaj, 76, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1949, in Albania to Nua Turmalaj and Tole (Lugaj) Turmalaj. On October 20, 1970, Martin married the love of his life, Gjeline Pecaj, in Albania, beginning a marriage built on love, devotion, and family.

Martin will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose life was guided by his deep faith, generous spirit, and dedication to those he loved. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and taking walks with his wife. His greatest joy was playing with his granddaughters and sharing in the happiness of family life. Martin was known for the kindness and respect he showed to everyone he met. His warmth and compassion, will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew him.

His Family… Martin will be missed by his wife, Gjeline Turmalaj; his children, Arben (Alfrida) Turmalaj, John (Mimoza) Turmalaj; siblings, Vasel Turmalaj, and Vitore Shkurtaj; granddaughters, Klea, Emma, Mira; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Nua and Tole Turmalaj.

His Farewell… Martin’s family and friends will gather Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 PM (7:00 PM Rosary) at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes in Howell, Michigan. His Gathering will continue Monday, June 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM (10:00 AM Mass) at Our Lady of Albania Church in Southfield, Michigan. Father Dino Cekrezi will serve as celebrant.
