Marvin L. Dunlap, 85, of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, passed away December 21, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Desloge, Missouri. He was born on 05/23/1935 in Irondale, Missouri to the late Ocia Frank and Francis (Barton) Dunlap. Marvin worked as an electrician at the University of Michigan and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member and Regional Director of the Ercoupe Owners Club and a Board Member of the Brighton Airport Association, Brighton, Michigan. He enjoyed flying airplanes and could fix anything. His wife, Ruth Dunlap, was his navigator and Marv the pilot. Marvin and Ruth’s best times were with family, their grandchildren and flying.
Mr. Dunlap is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years, A. Ruth (Boyer) Dunlap, three children Sharon Towles of Desloge, Missouri; Tammey (Rodney) Ranger of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; and Lloyd (Shelli) Dunlap of Brighton, Michigan. 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Gerald (Phyllis) Dunlap of Pilot Knob, Missouri; Mary Lou (Carlos/Cork) Boswell of Fredericktown, Missouri; DeWayne (Gomer) Dunlap of Farmington, Missouri; Linda Marler of Fredericktown, Missouri; and Nancy (Gary) Bazzell of Granite City, Illinois along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ocia and Francis (Barton) Dunlap, Marvin was preceded in death by his granddaughter Felicia Nicole Towles and 7 siblings.
