Her Legacy… Mary Jane Smith, 101, passed away November 15, 2023.  She was born on September 1, 1922, in Bradford, Ontario to Leslie Metcalf and Ada (Norrie) Metcalf. Mary married the love of her life, Dr. Lee G. Smith, in Napoleon, Ohio. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, caring for her family was most important to her. She was a devout Christian and was active in her church. Mary loved to cook and try new recipes, and was an avid reader. She was very stylish and loved to get dressed up for dates with Lee. Mary was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Her Family… Mary will be missed by her children, Lee Smith, Sandra (Scott) Woehler; half-sister, Helen Dinsmore; grandson, Garrett Woehler; step-granddaughter, Holly Abdullah; daughter-in-law, Ellen Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lee G. Smith; parents, Leslie and Ada Metcalf; daughter, Michele Lynn Smith; brother, James Metcalf; half-brother, Carl Metcalf; and daughter-in-law, Charma Hastings-Smith.

Her Farewell… Mary’s family and friends will gather Monday, November 20, 2023, from 2:00PM-4:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel in Hamburg, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will follow at 4:00PM. Holly Abdullah will serve as celebrant.
