Her Legacy… Mary Kathryn Scarpelli, 93, passed away on April 5th, 2026. She was born on February 5th, 2026, in Republic, Ohio to Raymond and Anna (Claus) Willman. Mary married the love of her life, August Scarpelli, in August of 1957, in Ohio. Mary will be remembered as a loving wife and proud mother of six children, she devoted her life to raising her family with care, patience, and endless support. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the values she instilled in those she loved. She was a graduate of Mary Grove College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics, along with minors in French and English. In her free time, she found joy in simple pleasures such as sewing, playing card games, and engaging in friendly competition over a game of Scrabble. She was also deeply committed to serving others. As a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, she dedicated her time as a delivery driver, ensuring that those in need received both nourishment and a friendly smile. She further served her community through her involvement at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Howell. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in her children, her family, and all those whose lives she touched.
Her Family… Mary will be missed by her children; Maryann (Wally) Kellogg, Rita (Jim) Whitaker, Lou (Lisa) Scarpelli, Angie Scarpelli, Susie (Gary) Weil and Joe Scarpelli. Siblings; Lou Mone, Jane Jones, Cathy Grimes, Gene Willman, Ed (Vicky) Willman. She will be missed by her 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Anna and Raymond Willman; brother John Willman; sisters, Irene Willman and Rita Remlinger; sisters-in-law, Imogene Willman, Rita Willman; brothers-in-law, Roy Grimes, Nelson Jones, and Robert Mone.
Her Farewell… Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00AM (10:00AM gathering), at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Howell, Michigan. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Meals on Wheels of Livingston County.
