Her Legacy… Mary Ellen Terry, 94, passed away December 23, 2021. She was born on November 24, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Clarence Sparks and Rose (Dellinger) Sparks. Mary Ellen married her first husband, William Donahue Sr. with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years. She courageously and lovingly cared for him at home for five years after his major stroke. Following his death, she married H. Robert Terry, with whom she spent another 7 wonderful years until his passing. Mary Ellen was devoted to her faith in Jesus and to her family. She was a long-time member of Northville United Methodist Church and Aldersgate UMC in Redford, Michigan. During her life, she was a Sunday school teacher, a women’s Bible study leader, and a role model to many women. Mary Ellen exemplified the very best of what it means to be a believer in and disciple of Jesus Christ. Through her faith and true friendships, she led many to a vital relationship with Jesus. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. It is with an abiding sense of joy that we celebrate her homecoming with the One who loves her best and loves her most. For the moment she breathed her last breath here, she breathed her first breath there.
