His Legacy… Max Groeteka, 81, passed away February 3, 2021.  He was born on October 10, 1939, in Granite City, Illinois to Max Groeteka and Thelma (Lochmann) Groeteka.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and a great friend to many.  Max spent over 30 plus years working for Ford Motor Company.  He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, Steelers football and was a Ford fan.  Max loved helping others and was a man of faith.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

 

His Family… Max will be missed by his children, Vicky Jackson, Ricky (Helen) Groeteka, Cindy (Jim) Lockart, Mark (Robin) Groeteka; stepchildren, Susan (Bob) Michelson, Kenneth Klaus, Cathy Witke; grandchildren, Melissa, Lori, Eric, Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth, Heather, Nicholas, Curtis, Chrissy, Amber, Michelle, Robby, Brett; 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Max and Thelma Groeteka; sister, Judy Jasper; wife, Shelby Groeteka; wife, Susan Groeteka, stepson Johnny Klaus, grandson, Russell Witke.

 

 His Farewell…A Private Farewell Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home.
