His Legacy…Michael Carter Chapman, 83, passed away November 16, 2022. He was born on January 19, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur Chapman and Mary (Whitefoot) Chapman. Michael married the love of his life, Donna Cronberger, on November 9, 1957, in Southfield, Michigan. Michael will be remembered as a dedicated police officer who served the Southfield community for 27 years. Michael adored his family and loved watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He loved the Red Wings and U of M football. Michael enjoyed hunting, exercising, and the Florida beaches. Michael had a strong faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Pinckney. While residing in Cocoa Beach, Florida he would frequently visit the chapel for eucharistic adoration. Family was most important to him and he enjoyed his time with them, especially during the holidays. Michael was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed.
His Family… Michael will be missed by his wife of 65 years, Donna Chapman; his children, Colleen Chapman, Dan (Kathy) Chapman, Mark Chapman, Keith (Margaret) Chapman, Carrie (Matt) Emery; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Chapman; son, Anthony Chapman; brother, Tom; and sister Suzanne.
His Farewell… Michael’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 3PM-8PM (7PM scripture service), at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel, Pinckney, Michigan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00AM (10AM viewing), at St. Mary’s Church, Pinckney, Michigan. Father Dan Kogut will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Church.
