His Legacy… Michael Frank Rogers, 71, passed away August 30, 2025.  He was born on August 5, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Frank Rogers and Geraldine “Gigi” (Larson) Rogers. Michael married the love of his life, Diana Herron, on September 21, 1974, in Garden City, Michigan. Michael worked in the instrumentation field at Ford Motor Company for 41 years. He also served as a Chaplain there for 15 years. Michael loved more than anything to talk about the Lord, he had incredible faith. He was an elder at Shalom Lutheran Church and loved his church family or as he liked to call them “Shalomies”. He had the kindest heart and was often sending encouraging texts to his friends and family. Michael was known for asking people “has anybody told you today that they love you? If not, let me be the first”, it very frequently brightened people’s day and gave them encouragement. He was fun to be around and loved to tease. Michael had a quiet strength about him, but when he spoke his words always carried meaning. He was an incredible cook and enjoyed woodworking. Michael loved many sports, especially pickleball, golf and bowling; he was very proud of bowling a perfect 300. Michael adored his family and gave great hugs. He was a joy to know and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

His Family… Michael will be deeply missed by his wife, Diana Rogers; his children, Christina (Cory) Birely, Eric Rogers; sisters, Heather Rogers, Kathy (Michael VanHampler) Rogers; granddaughter, Claire Birely; brother-in-law, Alan (Sue) Herron; father-in-law, Lonnie (Jan) Herron; and numerous nieces, nephews, many friends and “Shalomies”. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Geraldine “Gigi” Rogers; brother, Paul Rogers; mother-in-law, Marlene Herron; and brother-in-law, Tommy Bohms.

His Farewell… Michael’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 4:00PM-7:00PM, at Shalom Lutheran Church, 1740 E. M-36, Pinckney, Michigan His Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Shalom Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Quagliata will serve as celebrant.
