Milo John Runyon

His Legacy… Milo John Runyon, age 80, passed away February 23, 2023. He was born on October 21, 1942 in Detroit, MI to John and Erma (Virley) Runyon. Milo married the love of his life, Nancy Davis, on January 5, 1968 in Livonia, MI. Milo was a self made entrepreneur and innovator both in business as well as in his wood shop. His mind was constantly inventing ways to better his diverse array of products. Over the course of his business career, Milo ran ten different businesses primarily focused in interior decorating products, from draperies and other window coverings to paint/stain selections, wallpaper, custom valances and custom cornices, decorative ceiling medallions and lastly infrared saunas. He was an introvert, but was a super salesman who enjoyed meeting all sorts of customers. His love of music played a major role in soothing his soul during his final months when he would hum along with Christmas songs and Elvis and Oldies. He was kind, gentle, fun loving and a true optimist who always saw the rainbow and silver lining in every tough situation.  Milo found his joy in family activities. Milo found himself closest to God when he was gardening, helping injured animals, pondering the universe, and walking in the woods (Kensington Metro Park). All of God’s creation was precious to him. He looked forward to catching up with friends regularly at Chilson Hills Church. He will be remembered for his playful nature with children, natural gift for hospitality, and gentle spirit.

His Family… Milo will be greatly missed by his wife, Nancy of 55 years; children, Todd, Scott, and Nicole (Shaun) Dill; and grandchildren, Sophia, Qwynn, Bre, and Bryce. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margo; pet roosters, Ralph and Fred; and shop dog, Queenie.

His Farewell… Milo’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 12PM at Chilson Hills Church in Howell, MI with a visitation/gathering beginning at 9AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or to the family for a memorial bench at Kensington Metropark.
